Easy, fast, and homemade sorbet – what else could you ask for on a hot summer night?
This recipe is only requires 3 ingredients (4 if you really want to go for the real food feel). It so easy I was able to add, blend, and enjoy in less than 3 minutes. Not only did it taste delicious, I didn’t have to worry about a sugar overload! So here’s how to do it:
#1: Take out your handy dandy blender! Don’t have one? This is the one I have. It doesn’t break the bank but it certainly gets the job done!
#2: Add 1 C frozen fruit. I have an affinity for raspberries and strawberries. Berries have a low glycemic index and a wealth of health benefits but feel free to throw in your favorites.
#3: Add in about 1/4-1/3 C of lemonade. I usually just pour in enough liquid to barely reach the line of the frozen fruit.
What you should know: Now even “real” and “organic” fruit juices and lemonades are processed. During this processing, true fruit flavors can be lost and are then later added back into via chemicals. Since the type and mixture of chemicals used to create this flavor is considered a “company secret”, these chemicals are not required to be listed in the ingredients. So to up the “real” factor it would be better to either use green tea as liquid or water mixed with the juice of a freshly squeezed lemon!
#4: To get that nice creamy texture add about 2 T of greek yogurt.
#5: Blend and Enjoy!
Like I said, easy peasy and delicious! Leave a comment and let me know what your favorite fruit combo is!
